On Monday we drove over to Winthrop.
We skied down the Winthrop trail from Sun Mountain via Patterson Lake a couple of times.
A&C made it from the lake to the
pickup in just 17 minutes!
We got up to Mazama Ranch House for a fine dinner by KD&K. After dinner, A led a giant game of
charades with four families.

On Tuesday morning, A,C & I skated to the Freestone and back via the Basecamp.
KL’s REI surplus Madshus delaminated just like my had a while back on
Amabilis! and just like RT’s the day before!
A bandaged it with a hair tie.
Then ML & I skied to the Goat Creek Bridge.
Then a big group skied up towards Fawn Hut – we almost made
it but it was getting dark so we turned back.
The hot tub was very fine.

On
Wednesday, C& D skated the 21km from Mazama to Wolf Ridge in slush, while
A&K joined them from Mazama to the Rolling Huts.
Next year, C plans to skate the whole 30km from Mazama to Winthrop.

We all met up at the Wesola Polana Diner by the Rolling
Huts. We also bumped into W&J and got to visit the Rolling Hut that they
were staying in.
After lunch, ML & I skied up to Fawn Hut.

On Thursday, we headed up to Loup Loup for a great day of
downhill. I even demoed a pair of fancy shaped skis. While not quite the powder of
last year, we enjoyed the fine views and wonderful sunshine.

On the drive home, we met up with KD&K at a Mexican restaurant in Wenatchee .

Today, Friday, C had a great day up at Alpental with fresh northwest “powder”.
He spent the day on International – his first "double diamond" day.
